"Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom" is the last of Ye.Stankovich's choral works.
I started writing "Liturgy," says the composer, trying to avoid the conservative aesthetics of church singing. In my opinion, everything should develop like human life. The Lord created people for self-improvement, development, reaching the highest point...
I focused on the text of John Chrysostom. But I did it, rather, as a secular piece, for a concert performance with these words. Both the emotional state and the construction itself are more designed for a secular, concert piece, in which each repetition is determined purely by musical development and expressiveness of the presentation."
