AVE. A Concert by Duo Myroslava Kotorovych (violin) & Olena Zhukova (piano)
On November 22 at 17:00, in the Khlibnia Hall of the National Reserve “Sophia of Kyiv,”we will have the opportunity to hear live the music of Bach and Schubert — music of undeniable beauty and depth.
Each piece selected by the artists is a masterpiece in its own right. These precious musical gems are brought together in the concert program AVE.
The program is united by a symbolic arch — the prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary will be heard twice: Bach–Gounod’s Ave Maria at the beginning and Schubert’s Ave Maria at the conclusion of the concert.
The evening will feature sonatas by Bach and Schubert, as well as contemporary tributes to these musical geniuses by Ukrainian composers Valentyn Sylvestrov and Victoria Poleva.
