The “People of Steel” projectat Kyiv Art Sessions Festival

Film screening, panel discussion, concert and exhibition

A significant part of the Kyiv Art Sessions festival will be the project "People of Steel", which includes:- A screening of the documentary film "People of Steel".*In the film, defenders of Mariupol and their families share the true story of the events that took place from February to May 2022 during the Battle of Mariupol in the besieged city held by Russian forces. The film highlights the sacrifices of Ukrainian defenders, the hardships faced by prisoners of war, and the urgent need for international attention for their release.*- A panel discussion with the film's director Serhiy Fomenko.- A live acoustic music performance by Serhiy Fomenko himself.- An exhibition of graphic works by Matviy Vaisberg titled "Chronicles of War". The pieces were created by the artist specifically for the film and serve as its illustration.
*Serhiy Fomenko is the creator and director of the film "People of Steel," a cultural figure, a member of the Territorial Defense since the first days of the full-scale war, a participant in the defense of Kyiv, and a well-known Ukrainian singer, composer, and frontman of the rock band "Mandry" (stage name - Foma).*
The winter season of Kyiv Art Sessions is expanding its geography, and the project "People of Steel" will be presented in three prominent British cities:- January 25, 15:30, Cambridge, Cambridge University, Yusuf Hamied Theatre, Christ’s College, 46 King St. Cambridge CB1 1LN, admission free.- January 30, 16:00, Oxford, Oxford University, St. Antony's College, Lecture Theatre, Investcorp Building, 62 Woodstock Rd, Oxford DX2 6JF, admission free.- February 2, 15:00, London, Old Sessions House, 22 Clerkenwell Green, Clerkenwell, London EC1R 0NA.
