On April 12 at 6:00 p.m., St. Sophia Cathedral will host a landmark event for musical culture - the presentation of a choral sheet music collection by the well-known Ukrainian composer Hanna Havrylets, who died in 2022, in the first days of the war.
At the same time, the famous choirmaster and conductor Mykola Hobdych had the idea to collect and publish all the choral works of the artist, whose choral work is in the mainstream of national choral art. Ms. Hanna's works are sung by all the famous choirs of the country. They are an important part of their repertoire and, in particular, of the "Kyiv" Chamber Choir, whose constant long-term director is Mykola Hobdych.
Mykola Hobdych has devoted the last 2 years to active work on a sheet music collection of works by Anna Havrylets. With his direct participation, the collection and systematization of all her well-known, little-known, and completely unknown choral compositions, which were discovered in the composer's home archive after her death, took place. This is what makes this publication unique because, for the first time, a full-length collection of choral music by an outstanding artist will see the light of day.
The unusualness of the collection lies in one more feature. It will be released not in the usual printed version, but in the form of an INTERNET BOOK. This is Mykola Hobdych's first attempt in this way to release a sheet music edition that meets the current electronic and digital requirements of the time and will contribute to the widest possible distribution of choral music by an outstanding author.
The sheet music is the result of the composer's long-term, almost twenty-year creative collaboration with the "Kyiv" Chamber Choir, which, under the direction of Mykola Hobdych, held many premieres and author's concerts of the master, actively performed and continues to perform even after the author's death, her incomparable melodic beauty choral works in In Ukraine and abroad - Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, USA, Canada, Georgia, etc.
The release of the musical edition took place in cooperation with and with the support of the Ukrainian cultural center Dom Master Klass.
The event will be accompanied by an author's concert from the composer's choral works presented in the music collection.
