Purcell's harpsichord music, a genre central to family music-making appeared prominently in 17th-century English society and was widely popular among amateurs. Purcell's genius is manifested in these beautiful works. The compositions of the 18th-century Belgian composer Joseph-Hector Fiocco are gaining popularity, though his music is rarely performed in Ukraine.
French composer Jacques Duphly was a prominent harpsichord musician and teacher in Paris. His works, filled with passion and luxurious harpsichord sounds, are a gem in the repertoire of modern performers.
