The selection of the latest fundamental works, scientific monographs and books, is finally on the shelves of the famous Bodleian Libraries
At the Bouquet Kyiv Stage 2022 festival in Oxford, Nelya Kukovalska, general director of the Sofia Kyivska National Reserve, an invited speaker of the Festival held a lecture-talk with teachers and students of Oxford University.
Nelya Kukovalska spoke about the history of the creation of the main attraction of Ukraine - Sofia of Kyiv, the latest finds and research of the museum, and also touched the topic of preserving cultural values during the war in Ukraine. The meeting with Nelaya Kukovalska aroused great interest and resonance among the British.
During our stay in Oxford, one of the world's centers of knowledge and intelligence, we were struck by how little information is stored there about the history of Ukraine, in particular about the period of formation of our state - Kyiv Rus.After returning to Ukraine, Nelya Kukovalska initiated the transfer of scientific and historical publications about the Sofia Reserve as a gift to the main university library Bodleian.
These days, a unique book collection reached the addressee!
The selection, which contains 77 of the latest fundamental works, scientific monographs and books, is finally on the shelves of the famous Bodleian Libraries and forms part of the library's book collection.
We sincerely thank Nelya Kukovalska, general director of the Sofia Kyivska National Reserve, for the vital initiative and Yaroslav Bukhta, the president of the Oxford University Ukrainian Society, for helping to transfer the book collection to the library.
We are glad to popularize the priceless monuments of our beloved "Sofia of Kyiv" in the world!
