The Heart of Europe Beats in Ukraine
The Eighth Annual Bouquet Kyiv Stage Festival will be held on August 14-17, 2025, at Saint Sophia.
The festival will traditionally bring together music, Ukrainian visual art, cinema, theatre, guided tours, children’s programmes, and “Conversations beneath the Ash Tree”.
Over the course of four days, more than 40 cultural events will unfold.
The central theme, “The Heart of Europe Beats in Ukraine,” resonates more powerfully than ever in our present reality, reflecting a united Europe standing with Ukraine in a shared struggle of Light against darkness.
“Ukraine has always been, and will always remain, part of Europe! For the civilised world, Europe has long stood as a symbol of humanism, freedom, and dignity. In the clash of epochs, civilisations, past and future, European values have found their last stronghold.Today, the heart of Europe beats here – in Ukraine, in Kyiv, in Saint Sophia. Ukraine is the heart of Europe.
Oleksandr Dubovyk, who gifted the festival its iconic Bouquet symbol, is a great Kyiv-based artist and visionary. Through his work, he shapes the Future.
Dubovyk’s Bouquet is more than an image – it is a Meta-symbol.
The Bouquet is a Gift. It is Unity. It is Variety in harmony. On a metaphysical level, it reflects the very essence of the European Union – an alliance of equal, sovereign nations joined by shared values of humanism and freedom. Every flower in the bouquet is unique and beautiful on its own, but together they form a work of art.
The strength of such a Union is being tested today – on the frontlines in Ukraine.”
